One way to prove that the “Green wave” is a myth and the future belongs to a unity government is for Pakatan Harapan to perform better in the six state general elections when compared to 2018 GE

With the establishment of the “unity government” under Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th Prime Minister, Malaysians celebrated the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit with hope that Malaysia can be better tomorrow — more just, more equal and more prosperous, and less corrupt, less violation of human rights, and less scandalous.

All Malaysians want a country which is more just, more equal and more prosperous, and less corrupt, less violation of human rights, and less scandalous, and want the Anwar unity government to last the full term of five years to start this new process to create a new Malaysia — but there is no guarantee that such a New Malaysia will be realised for the Anwar unity government may be overthrown in less than five years — as happened to the Pakatan Harapan government in February 2020 after 22 months by the infamous Sheraton Move political conspiracy.

A crucial test whether there will be a New Malaysia, and whether the Anwar unity government can last five years will the general elections in six states — Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu later this year.

One way to prove that the “Green wave” is a myth and the future belongs to a unity government is for Pakatan Harapan to perform better in the six state general elections when compared to 2018 General Elections.

In the 2018 General Elections, Pakatan Harapan won 37 out of 40 seats in Penang, 51 out of 56 seats in Selangor, 20 out of 36 seats in Negeri Sembilan, 18 out of 36 seats in Kedah, zero seats in both Kelantan, which had 45 seats, and Terengganu, which had 32 seats.

These figures include seats won by Bersatu when it was part of Pakatan Harapan in the 2018 general elections, and if Pakatan Harapan can maintain the total number of Pakatan Harapan state assembly seats which included the seats won by the Bersatu candidates in 2018, such a victory will be all the greater and more meaningful.

It will clearly show that the ‘Green wave” phenomenon, which was supposed to occur in the 15th General Election on Nov. 19, 2022 was a myth and that the future belongs to a unity government which is inclusive and unite all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or region to build a New Malaysia which is a first-rate world-class nation.

All Malaysians who want to see their hopes for a New Malaysia to be realised should do whatever possible to help in a greater victory of the Anwar unity government in the six state general elections.
