Hadi has upped the ante and from making the preposterous allegation that DAP is promoting Islamophobia, he is making the even more preposterous allegation that the majority of OIC countries are promoting Islamophobia
The PAS President, Hadi Awang, has upped the ante and from making the preposterous allegation that DAP is promoting Islamophobia, he is making the even more preposterous allegation that the majority of OIC (Organisation of Islamic Conference) countries are promoting Islamophobia.
Hadi first made the nefarious allegation that the DAP is promoting Islamophobia two months ago, and the very fact that he had not been able to cite a single instance of the DAP promoting Islamophobia is evidence of the preposterousness of his allegation.
Instead of admitting his error, Hadi decided to compound his mistake and came out with a widened and ridiculous definition of Islamophobia, stating that it was used to stop “the true Islam” from taking power and governing the country.
By Hadi’s new definition, any person or political party which opposes him as Prime Minister of Malaysia is guilty of Islamophobia.
It is not only the DAP which opposes Hadi as the Prime Minister of Malaysia, it would include Perikatan Nasional parties like Bersatu and Gerakan as they oppose Hadi as Prime Minister of Malaysia. In fact, they oppose Hadi as the Parliamentary Opposition Leader although PAS has more parliamentary seats than Bersatu.
Hadi had been the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the Middle East to two “backdoor” Prime Ministers, but he seems to be unaware that the OIC has an OIC Islamophobia Observatory in Saudi Arabia which conducts global and daily monitoring of Islamophobia.
I will not be surprised if he had never visited the OIC Islamophobia Observatory as Hadi was regarded as a persona non grata in Saudi Arabia, as the Saudi Arabian government regarded Hadi as a leader of a terrorist organisation.
Have Hadi gone through the annual reports of the OIC Islamophobia Observatory since 2007, as none of them cited instances of Islamophobia in Malaysia.
Had Hadi submitted a report to the OIC Islamophobia Observatory on Islamophobia in Malaysia, and if not, why not?
Let Hadi state how many of the 57 member states of the OIC practise “the true Islam”, and how many countries are guilty of Islamophobia by his new definition.
Is Hadi suggesting that the majority of OIC states are practising “the true Islam”?
I have condemned the Swedish-Danish far-right politician Rasmus Paludan for burning a copy of the Holy Quran in Stockholm on Sunday.
I have not read of any condemnation of Paludan’s vile and unacceptable act by Hadi. Why is this so?
Hadi is emerging as a Paludan demagogue at the opposite end of the spectrum using hate speech, lies, and falsehoods to incite inter-religious fear, hate, and polarisation.
Both the national body politics and the international society must not allow the Paludans and the Hadis leeway to use hate speech, lies, and falsehoods to poison inter-racial and inter-religious understanding, harmony and peace, both nationally and internationally.
