Zahid’s failure to be a witness in Najib Razak’s SRC International trial to testify that he had met the Arab family who donated cash into Najib’s accounts supports the stand of nine judges that Najib’s Arab donation defence was “untenable” and “unsustainable”
UMNO President Zahid Hamidi’s failure to be a witness in former Prime Minister Najib Razak’s SRC International trial to testify that he had met the Arab family who donated cash into Najib’s accounts supports the stand of nine Malaysian judges that Najib’s Arab donation defence was “untenable” and “unsustainable”.
So far, apart from Zahid, nobody has met physically the mysterious Arab donor as even the delegation the then Attorney-General, Apandi Ali sent to Riyadh in 2015 had failed to meet the mysterious and fabled Arab donor.
Zahid owes an explanation to Malaysians, particularly the supporters of the “Malu Apa BOSSku” movement, why he did not offer himself to be a witness to clear Najib of the charge that the Arab donation defence was untenable and unsustainable?
Apandi’s shocking admission that his delegation to Riyadh in 2015 failed to meet anyone from the “fabled Arab donor” was only known in 2021 (six years after the event) from Apandi’s own testimony in his defamation suit against me, and is to be found in High Court judge, Justice Azimah binti Omar’s 100-page judgment (Paragraph 136/137), viz:
“136. Through the entire breadth of the Plaintiff’s (Apandi) testimony, the Plaintiff has failed to give any cogent reasons behind his perplexing insistence to adopt the donation narrative (while absolving Najib Razak) although he readily admitted that his Riyadh delegation has utterly failed in its mission to verify the truth behind the fabled and fantastical donation. The Plaintiff further failed to afford any sound justification behind his puzzling decision to bend the truth regarding the supposed success of the Riyadh delegation (while in truth and reality, the Riyadh delegation had failed to speak or even meet with the fabled donor).
“137. The Plaintiff also failed to explain his glaring lack of proper knowledge behind the supposed evidences and statements the Riyadh delegation collected, to the extent that the Plaintiff could not even remember the name of the fabled or the famous donor he so intently contended upon.”
Apandi took six years to admit that the Attorney-General’s delegation to Riyadh in 2015 failed in its mission because it failed to speak or even meet with the “fabled” donor.
How long will it take Zahid to admit that what he told the Sri Gading UMNO annual division meeting in August 2015 that he had met representatives of the Arab family who donated into Najib’s accounts was a tall story?
If not a tall story, Zahid should name names now.
