Sarawak cannot be “stable, prosper and excellent” if Malaysia is a failed, rogue and kleptocratic state in 30 or 40 years’ time
On the way to Bau, I saw the GSP slogans calling on the voters to support GPS to ensure that Sarawak is “stable, prosperous and excellent”.
This made me think of 1976, when the Malaysian Constitution was amended to downgrade Sarawak and Sabah from “territories” to “states”.
Who supported the constitutional amendment to reduce Sarawak from a “territory” to a “state”?
This list of MPs who voted for and against the 1976 Constitution Amendment is available online on the Parliament website, and any visitor will find that those who supported the 1976 Constitution Amendment were the leaders of the present political parties in the GPS, and that it was I and the DAP MPs who opposed the Constitutional Speech Amendment.
DAP had never agreed to Sarawak to be downgraded from “territory” to a “state”.
Why did the political parties in the GPS agreed in 1976 to downgrade Sarawak from a “territory” to a “state”?
If not for the 14th General Election on May 9, 2018, which toppled the UMNO-BN political hegemony and brought in the Pakatan Harapan Government, but which lasted only for 22 months before it was itself toppled by the undemocratic and unconstitutional Sheraton Move political conspiracy, Sarawak will never regain its status as a “territory” and would have continued to be treated as a “state”.
Similarly, the DAP fully agrees that Sarawak – in fact, Sabah and every state in Malaysia, whether Penang, Perak, Selangor, Malacca or Johore should be “stable, prosperous and excellent” – but this is not possible if Malaysia becomes a failed and rogue state, a kleptocracy and a kakistocracy.
This is what the 15th General Election is all about – Sarawak and Sabah and all states in Malaysia to be able to be “stable, prosperous and excellent”, which is impossible if Malaysia becomes a failed and rogue state like Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
When Malaysia was formed six decades ago, Malaysia was one of the most prosperous countries in Asia.
But Malaysia lost its way and entered the trajectory of a failed and rogue state, a kleptocracy and kakistocracy. We lost out to Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and Vietnam. If Malaysia continues at this rate, Malaysia will lose out to more countries in the next 30-40 years and Malaysia will end up as a failed and rogue state, a kleptocracy and kakistocracy, on Malaysia’s Centennial.
In 1968, one Singapore dollar was equal to one Malaysian ringgit; Today, one Singapore dollar is equal to RM3.39?
This shows the failure of Malaysia!
What is the problem with Malaysia?
Simple – there is no good government in Putrajaya. There is rampant corruption and abuses of power until Malaysia became world infamous.
The 15GE is about electing a good government in Putrajaya. At present, only three coalitions in the 15GE can form a Federal government in Putrajaya – UMNO/Barisan Nasional, Perikatan National of Bersatu and PAS and Pakatan Harapan of PKR, DAP, Amanah and UPKO.
Apart from these three coalitions, there is no other political coalition that can form a Federal Government in Putrajaya in the 15GE.
Do we want to have UMNO/BN President Zahid Hamidi as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia? Zahid said on 10th October, when Parliament was dissolved, that the 15GE was the “mother of all elections” to free UMNO/BN leaders from being charged in court for corruption and sent to jail. All the subsequent Zahid talk of stability and prosperity is just “hogwash” to cover up the UMNO/BN primary agenda in the 15GE.
Or do we want Muhyhiddin Yassin or Hadi Awang as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia – depending on whether Bersatu or PAS wins more seats in the 15GE.
Neither Zahid, Muhyiddin or Hadi is capable of forming a good government in Putrajaya. Only the Pakatan Harapan candidate for the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, is capable of forming a good government in Putrajaya to stop Malaysia’s global decline in politics, economics, education, health, culture and sports so that Sarawak, Sabah and every state in Malaysia can be “stable, prosperous and excellent”.
This is why I am calling on the voters of Sarawak to unite with the voters of Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia to have a high voter turnout and to ensure that we have a good government in Putrajaya so that Malaysia can be “stable, prosperous and excellent” where Sarawak, Sabah and every state in Malaysia can be “stable, prosperous and excellent”!
