I challenge Wee Ka Siong to prove that I had said that Mahathir was the most corrupt Prime Minister or he should withdraw his statement if he could not produce any proof
I challenge the MCA President, Wee Ka Siong to prove that I had said that Mahathir was the most corrupt Prime Minister or he should withdraw his statement if he could not produce any proof. New Straits Times reported Wee to have said in Penang yesterday:
“We should not listen to Lim. Since when do we listen to him?
“At one time, he declared Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the most corrupt prime minister. After that, they hugged each other and he had forgotten what he had accused Tun (Mahathir) of.
“So if you ask me, DAP is consistently inconsistent. That is it.”
Ka Siong advised me not to be arrogant in predicting Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) winning chances in the 15th General Election (GE15).
I am sorry, but Ka Siong had been misinformed.
I never predicted that PH will win the 15GE, but this is a possibility that cannot be ruled out.
I said in Penang that Pakatan Harapan slogan “Kita Boleh” has at least four meanings.
Firstly, it means Pakatan Harapan can win the 15th General Election and return to Putrajaya to form the Federal Government and beat both UMNO-Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional coalitions. But this is subject to the condition of a high voter turnout, as a low voter turnout, as in the Malacca and Johore state general elections, will benefit UMNO-MCA-MIC.
Secondly, it means Pakatan Harapan can succeed in making Pakatan Harapan head, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Thirdly, it means that we can restore the rights of Sabah and Sarawak as contained in Malaysia Agreement 1963; and
Fourthly, and most importantly, it means that we can undo the misgovernance where Malaysia failed Bapa Malaysia Tunku Abdul Rahman’s vision to become “a beacon of light in a difficult and distracted world” and became today a second-rate mediocre country and to march forward to achieve the Malaysian Dream of being among the best countries in the world, whether in politics, economics, a clean and honest government, employment, education, health, housing, culture or sports.
Is Ka Siong saying that there is no possibility of Pakatan Harapan winning the 15GE and Anwar Ibrahim becoming the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia?
Is Ka Siong saying that Malaysia is condemned to be a second-rate mediocre country after six decades of UMNO-MCA-MIC government, that Malaysia will further lag behind other countries whether in political democracy, economic prowess, high educational standards and the fight against corruption to the extent of becoming a third-rate failed state during Malaysia’s Centennial?
I am prepared to meet Ka Siong to understand why MCA leaders had never condemned the 1MDB scandal, which caused Malaysia to be regarded by the world as “kleptocracy at its worst”.
I believe if the MCA founders and early Presidents like Tan Cheng Lock and Tan Siew Sin were alive, they would have no hesitation to condemn the 1MDB scandal – as it is something which went against the principle of even the third UMNO President and second Prime Minister, Tun Razak.
Has Ka Siong never heard of Tun Razak’s “swimming pool” story as narrated by his youngest son Nazir Razak in his book “What’s In A Name” (page 51), where Nazir wrote:
“When we were all still young my brothers and I once trooped into my father’s office with a request to make: we asked him to build a swimming pool in the grounds of Seri Taman. My eldest brother Najib was the ringleader, corralling the rest of us to make the case, standing in front of my father’s desk in his study. My father listened to our proposal carefully and then calmly dismissed it. ‘How would it look,’ he asked, eyebrows raised, ‘if the Prime Minister spent public money on building a swimming pool for his family?’”
Tun Razak would not spend public money on building a swimming pool for his family, but Najib left behind not a world-class great country but a world-class RM50 billion 1MDB scandal!
Bit all Malaysians are mystified. Why is Ka Siong and MCA (as well as MIC) supporting Najib and the 1MDB scandal?
