Khairuddin’s image haunts Muhyiddin’s live telecast announcing the extension of RMCO as the single foremost question in the minds of Malaysians is the government’s double standards for breach of Covid-19 quarantine SOP

Malaysians following the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s live telecast tonight are interested in two things: firstly, whether the RMCO would be extended and the outcome of police investigations ten days after the DAP MP for Seputeh Teresa Kok revealed in Parliament about the flagrant breach of Covid-19 quarantine SOP by the Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Khairuddin Aman Razali on July 7.

It is no exaggeration to say that although the live image on the television screen was that of the Prime Minister, for the overwhelming majority of Malaysians, Khairuddin’s image haunts Muhyiddin’s live telecast.

But Malaysians are disappointed. There is only the hypocritical advice by the Prime Minister to Malaysians to be responsible and disciplined to follow the Covid-19 SOP, but such advice do not extend to his Cabinet Ministers.

There is no light with regard to the single foremost question in the minds of Malaysians - the government’s double standards for breach of Covid-19 quarantine SOP where there is one law for ordinary Malaysians while a different one for Ministers and VVIPs.

The Prime Minister is in such a weak political position that he dare not ask for Khairuddin’s resignation for his flagrant breach of the Covid-19 quarantine SOP.

Muhyiddin’s live telecast is also shocking over the slip-shod and unprofessional manner for its preparation.

Muhyiddin said that as of now, 22 million positive Covid-19 cases have been reported involving over 780,000 deaths.

These were outdated figures.

The World Heath Organisation is reporting a cumulative global total of 24,257,989 Covid-10 cases and 827,246 deaths; John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Centre has reported 24,490,692 Covid-19 cases and 832,410 deaths while the Coronavirus worldometer reports 24,663,727 Covid-19 cases and 836,366 deaths.

Where did Muhyiddin get his figures?

The global cumulative total for Covid-19 cases were in the 22 million-region in the five days from August 17 – 21.

Why is Muhyiddin one week behind time on his Covid-19 statistics?
