Call on voters of Cameron Highlands to be the eyes and ears of the law to report on any vote-buying and corrupt electoral practices to make the by-election the cleanest election in Malaysian history

I call on the voters of Cameron Highlands to be the eyes and ears of the law to report on any vote-buying and corrupt electoral practices to make the by-election the cleanest election in Malaysian history.

I also call on all competing political parties and candidates to co-operate to make the Cameron Highlands by-election the cleanest election in Malaysian history by making an instant full disclosure of the electoral expenditures when questioned.

Then the voters of Cameron Highlands would have made great history in Malaysia.

This is the principle that the Pakatan Harapan by-election campaign in Cameron Highlands is adhering to and I hope that the Barisan Nasional by-election campaign will also adhere to.

Today, Barisan Nasional leaders took to the social media to post comments on a batch of images showing money being allegedly handed out to people in Pakatan Harapan Cameron Highlands T-shirts and police reports had been lodged alleging that vote-buying was involved.

We are not afraid of the truth as no vote-buying was involved.

Arvind Bharet, the assistant to the Jelai Harapan operations chief, had explained that the images that surfaced on the social media depicted the party volunteers in Cameron Highlands being reimbursed for their expenses for attending the Nomination yesterday, which would be declared as part of the campaign spending.

The woman in red t-shirt is known as Vanessa, a Dusun-Punjabi from Kota Kinabalu who had been an Impian Malaysia volunteer since 2014. She is a Mass Communications graduate doing voluntary social work via Impian Malaysia all over the country.

She was placed in charge of the Orang Asli motor-cyclists who came out from their various Orang Asli kampongs for the Nomination in Tanah Rata yesterday.

There were 60 motor-cyclists and she reimbursed them RM20 each per motor-cyclist.

There were five cars and four buses of Orang Aslis but they were not Vanz’s responsibility

Is Barisan Nasional prepared to give a full public accounting of how many people it mobilized for the Nomination yesterday, and the total expenditure involved as well as to answer all queries on financial expenditures during the by-election?
