It is toxic Najibism gone mad – the wild allegation that Pakatan Harapan Government is adopting the DAP’s Christianisation agenda when there is no such DAP agenda in the first place.

Malaysians are reminded of the other toxic Najibisms at recent UMNO General Assemblies and in the run-up to the 14th General Election – that I am anti-Malay, anti-Islam; cause of May 13, 1969 riots; a communist; a stooge of foreign powers; that I dominate Pakatan Harapan and made other leaders like Tun Mahathir, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Mohamad Sabu into my stooges and puppets; that I want to be Prime Minister, etc.

I have been in Malaysian politics for 53 years and the thought of becoming Prime Minister of Malaysia has never entered my mind.

Now, the toxic Najibism “gone mad”” has come up with the latest wild allegation, that the Pakatan Harapan Government is adopting the DAP’s Christianisation agenda when for the past 53 years, no such Christian agenda had ever been raised in any DAP meetings, including the DAP National Congress.

Toxic Najibism “gone mad”” is at its most ludicrous when it could use the appointment of Lim Guan Eng as Finance Minister, Gobind Singh Deo as Minister for Communications and Multimedia and Richard Malanjum as Chief Justice as proof of a non-existing DAP’s Christianisation agenda, which is as wild, ludicrous and irresponsible as the claim by a PAS national leader that the appointment of Richard Malanjum as Chief Justice, Liew Vui Keong as de facto Law Minister and Tommy Thomas as Attorney-general have sparked restlessness among Muslims.

Those who spread the lies that DAP has a Christianisation agenda are mischief makers who want Malaysia to fail as a nation. It really beggars belief that DAP and I want to do away with Islam as the official religion and bring about a Christian Malaysia, when I am not even a Christian!

DAP’s position on Islam as the official religion is clear and unequivocal, as we have many a time expressed full support for the basic constitutional provisions in the country.

It has always been my life-long political creed that no responsible political movement in Malaysia can be against any race or religion, that we must not be anti-Malay, anti-Chinese or anti-Indian, anti-Kadazan or anti-Iban, but must be pro-Malaysian and support the basic rights and interests of all Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region or even politics.

The 14th General Election saw UMNO resorting to a vicious and toxic politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies, utterly reckless of its divisive, provocative and polarizing character to tear asunder a fragile plural society comprising of diverse races, religions, languages and cultures!

But there is hope for the future and the success of the Malaysian nation, as the 14GE saw the political awakening of the Malaysian voters, including Malay voters, resulting in the diminution of UMNO from a party with Malay majority support into one with minority Malay support.

I have no doubt that if toxic Najibism “gone mad” continues to be the dominant force in UMNO, it will see a further dwindling of Malay support in the coming years – as I do not believe Malaysians, whether Malays, Chinese, Indian, Kadazan or Iban, want Malaysia to return to the old politics of race, religion, hate, fear and lies just to prop up kleptocracy in Malaysia!
