Has Najib a strategy to counter Malaysia’s infamy and ignominy of being regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy or is the country just brazen through as a sitting duck?

Malaysians are entitled to know whether the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has a strategy to counter Malaysia’s infamy and ignominy of being regarded worldwide as a global kleptocracy.

Or is Najib’s strategy one of “non-strategy” to just brazen through the embarrassments and be a sitting-duck of the world appellation as a “global kleptocracy” without doing anything to challenge or counter the infamy and ignominy of being regarded world-wide a global kleptocracy?

Speaking at the launching of the World Inter-faith Harmony Week celebrated at the Forest Research Institute in Kepong yesterday, Najib said that Malaysia will become a failed state if it does not uphold the principles of unity and harmony embedded in the Federal Constitution 60 years ago.

Is Najib aware that Malaysia has taken a first step to become a “failed state” when we ascended to the club of “global kleptoccracy” without any sense of contrition or compunction, whether by the Cabinet or Parliament?

In fact, is Najib aware that strict adherence to the foundation principles in the Federal Constitution, which upholds not only the goals of unity and harmony, but also of integrity and democracy, Malaysia would never have deviated to become a global kleptocracy?

Something has gone very wrong in the 60-year journey of Malaysian nation-building that the Malaysian Cabinet and Parliament could countenance the country being regarded world-wide as a global kleptocracy, without any attempt or strategy to clear or counter such ill fame of a global kleptocracy?

This is why the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, should not pretend not to know about the Save Malaysia Roundtable on Tuesday when invitations had been sent to him and the other Barisan Nasional Ministers who are also Presidents of Barisan Nasional parties apart from UMNO.

Will Najib use the Save Malaysia Roundtable in Damansara on Tuesday to start anew to uphold the integrity and good governance principles of the Malaysian government?

We will know in the next 48 hours.
