MCA national and state leaders are “playing with fire” in a multi-racial and mult-religious society like Malaysia by artifically arousing non-Muslim alarm and fear in concocting the claim that PAS Pahang State Assembly leader Idris Omar had announced that PAS would destroy all Buddhist and Kuan Kung statues and alleging that PAS is no different from the Talibans whose medieval barbarism was condemned by the world for destroying the 2,000-year old Buddhist statues, including the world’s tallest standing Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan.
MCA Ministers and leaders are trying to distract national attention from the MCA failure to ensure that there is a fair university admission policy where the SPM and STPM top scorers are all admitted into the public universities but they have no right to resort to dirty tactics and lies to arouse fears among the non-Muslims and non-Malays by painting PAS as the local Talibans.
If Idris had made the statement to destroy all Buddhist and Kuan Kung statues, DAP would be in the forefront to denounce Idris, but if Idris had not made such a statement, MCA Ministers and leaders are being most seditious and irresponsible in trying to destroy inter-religious harmony, understanding and goodwill with blatant lies and falsehoods.
It is now established that it is the Pahang MCA State Assemblymen who had themselves put words into Idris’ mouth, as Idris had never said that if PAS comes to power it would destroy all Buddhist and Kuan Kung statues.
This is why up to now, no MCA leader dared to lodge a police report
against Idris for sedition for it is a criminal offence to lodge a false
report that Idris
had said that if PAS comes to power it would destroy all Buddhist and
Kuan Kung statues when this was never said by Idris.
