DAP calls for Inter-Religious Council to promote inter-religious understanding,
tolerance and goodwill
Xmas Greeting
by Lim Kit Siang
(Petaling Jaya, Friday): Happy
Christmas to all Christians and Malaysians. On the eve of the new
millennium, let Malaysians regardless of religion make a commitment
to build a bridge to uphold the constitutional guarantee of freedom of
religion and even more important to forge inter-religious understanding,
tolerance and goodwill in the country.
The time has come for the formation of an Inter-Religious Council where
all the major religions are represented so that Malaysia can become a model
nation for the world where a diversity of races, languages, cultures
and religions can co-exist in mutual respect, peace and harmony.
