(Kampong Koh, Sitiawan, Saturday): Since the Court of Appeal decision on April 1, 1998 enhancing the sentence of DAP Deputy Secretary-General and MP for Kota Melaka, Lim Guan Eng from RM15,000 fine to 36 months’ jail, many Malaysians from all walks of life, race, religion and gender have expressed their shock and outrage as well as their sympathy, support and solidarity with Guan Eng.

Many, who are not DAP members, have asked how they could help and provide solidarity so that all Malaysians, and not just Guan Eng, can have justice, freedom, democracy and good governance.

The time has come for the formation of a "Lim Guan Eng Support Group and Voluteers for Justice, Freedom, Democracy and Good Governance" to unite and mobilise Malaysians, regardless of race, religion or party politics, to ensure justice for Guan Eng and justice, freedom, democracy and good governance for all Malaysians.

All Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, gender or party politics, who are prepared to make a contribution to the national movement for justice, freedom, democracy and good governance are welcome to join the "Lim Guan Eng Support Group and Volunteers for Justice, Freedom, Democracy and Good Governance".

This is the seventh stop in Perak in the last two days where Malaysians have shown their support, sympathy and solidarity with Guan Eng as well as their endorsement for a campaign for justice, freedom, democracy and good governance for Malaysia.

The seven places which I had visited in the last two days are Kanthan Baru new village, Taiping, Pantai Remis, Changkat Kruing, Kampong Mambau, Kampong Raja Hitam and Sitiawan.

The campaign for justice for Guan Eng and justice, freedom, democracy and good governance for all Malaysians should be taken to all nooks and corners of the country so that there could be changes in our national system where the nation-wide outrage felt by Malaysians over the injustices in the Lim Guan Eng case could be translated into a positive force for justice, freedom, democracy and good governance for the whole country.
